The University of Nebraska is actively engaged in federal funding and policy issues related to higher education. The federal government relations team—with representatives from all university campuses—advocates and communicates to Nebraska’s Congressional delegation the impact of federal policy and funding decisions on the University of Nebraska.
Federal relations team members also actively represent the University of Nebraska in national higher education associations and interact with colleagues at other universities across the country to coordinate advocacy.
Building federal partnerships is key to securing funding for many nationally recognized research institutes and initiatives of the University of Nebraska. Federal funding accounts for 25 percent of the University’s total budget.
