Help Grow A Strong Future, Invest in the University

The Nebraska Legislature is currently in recess, with lawmakers spending time in their home districts and working on interim study resolutions.

In early January, the Nebraska Legislature will convene for the 108th Legislature, 2nd Session for 60 working days to address key issues facing the state.

The University of Nebraska System continues to work every single day across all 93 counties to help our state recover from the pandemic and grow stronger for the future.

We have the unique opportunity to demonstrate to the Legislature that Nebraskans believe in our university's ability to address major challenges facing our state and grow our workforce for the future.

From workforce development to global health security to modernizing academic research equipment, the University of Nebraska System will need your help in the telling the story of why legislators should invest in public higher education

Legislation to Watch

The 108th Legislature, 1st Session adjourned sine die on June 1, 2023. During the interim, lawmakers and committees will conduct research on key issues, compile studies and reports, and hold hearings on “interim studies resolutions” that were introduced during the session.

The University of Nebraska System’s world-renowned faculty and researchers are often requested to assist lawmakers during their work over the interim. The NU System also monitors many interim studies each year that could impact college affordability, campus operations, research, economic development and our academic programs.

The studies to the right are a few of the studies the NU System is watching.
