Launched in 2010, the NU Office of Digital Education is a university-wide initiative with the primary goal of providing increased access to education for Nebraska residents, and to people throughout the world. Digital Education brings together the online programs offered by the four campuses of the University of Nebraska into one comprehensive website and strategy.
The NU Office of Digital Education works closely with the NU campuses to:
- Expand access to a University of Nebraska education – a credential valued by employers – to more Nebraskans
- Address the needs of working adults seeking degree completion
- Enhance national and international awareness of the university as a quality resource for online degrees
- Position the university for the future by further integrating online pedagogies into existing curricula
The University of Nebraska High School (UNHS) serves Nebraska schools and students across the state. By using UNHS courses, local schools extend their curriculum offerings while keeping students in their communities, enrolled in local schools and on the path to graduation. The University of Nebraska High School is committed to its strategic purpose and direction, which is to serve students anytime anywhere with a high quality, college prep high school curriculum. UNHS is a special purpose school under Nebraska Rule 10. Rule 10 governs accreditation of schools - same authority and responsibilities as public schools under Rule 10 including awarding academic credits and high school diplomas.
