Renata Valquier Chavez, a graduate of Elkhorn High School, is currently a sophomore double majoring in Biotechnology and Political Science at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She is involved in the Honors Program, Thompson Learning Community, SustainUNO, the UNO Cross Country/Track team, and has been involved in Student Government for the past two years. When she isn’t studying, running, or working with students, she volunteers for Civic Nebraska. Following graduation, she plans on attending law school to study environmental law and policy. She is passionate about serving others, the environment, and the Mavericks. (Go Mavs!) She is honored to work with the Board of Regents to improve our university system for the sake of the current students and the students of future generations.
