Maeve Hemmer is a Regent Scholar and current sophomore majoring in Political Science and minoring in Human Rights and Leadership and Public Policy. She aspires to be a civil rights lawyer someday with a dream of working for the Southern Poverty Law Center. Toward realizing these future aspirations, she has served in Student Government for two years – first serving as a First Year Ambassador for the Freshman Leadership Council, and then, as Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion on the Executive Council. Through her time in Student Government, Maeve advocated for expanding accessibility to Hate and Bias Reporting Information, improving inclusivity for systems-impacted students on campus, ensuring equity and inclusion in the student activities budgeting process, and maximizing campus civic engagement.
