Stephanie Gallaway

Digital Media Producer for Communications and Marketing, UNK
January 25, 2019

On behalf of the Board of Regents, I am pleased to present a KUDOS Award to Ms. Stephanie Gallaway, Digital Media Producer for Communications and Marketing at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

Steph Gallaway joined the staff at UNK nearly five years ago and, in that time, has produced a massive library of promotional videos, commercials, short documentaries, highlight reels, live-streamed events, sports-action highlights and events packages. One of UNK’s favorites, Chancellor Kristensen’s “Carpool Karaoke” video, has been seen, shared, liked and commented on by more than 50,000 people, including the producers at James Corden’s “Late, Late Show.” You also may have recently seen her work on Regent Emeritus Bob Whitehouse’s sendoff video.

Steph has demonstrated how to turn the process of video-storytelling into an art, and has raised the profile of UNK by capturing the sights and sounds, voices and emotions of students, faculty, staff, alumni, supporters and fans. As UNK’s only full-time video professional, Steph works tirelessly, filming concerts, games, lectures, and interviewing and editing, packaging and creating graphics. She also completed training to receive her FAA drone-flyer certification, literally taking UNK’s videos to new heights. The volume and quality of her work speaks for itself, but Steph also uses her leadership and skills to mentor student interns who are thriving under her direction.

Steph earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Webster University, recently completed a graduate certificate in public relations and social media, and is studying for her Master’s in integrated marketing communication.

Congratulations, Steph, for illustrating daily how one talented, dedicated and caring person can make an incredible difference for the University and for our students.

Joining Steph today are her parents, Laura and Marc Krueger, and Kelly Bartling, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Communications and Community Relations.
