Donelle has worked at UNL for 25 years. To say she is the heart and soul of the department would be an understatement. She is an incredible and spirited team member, taking initiative and setting an example for others. She demonstrates excellent skills as a manager; is organized and makes “the trains run on time”; and creates a vision for what a professional office should be.

Donelle is responsibility for a wide variety of tasks, and does substantial work for 12 faculty members, 20 GTA instructors, and five lecturers. She administers class scheduling; budget and payroll; and travel for faculty, GTAs and the competitive Speech & Debate team. As her nominator shared, “There is no one who can come close to Donelle in terms of dedication, interpersonal skills, and work ethic.” Another person noted, “I am amazed at the amount of responsibilities Donelle carries out in such an effective and efficient manner.” A graduate student commented that, “The thing I appreciate most about Donelle is that she knows everything!” In addition, she has been a leader among staff on campus, serving in many capacities with UNOPA, the University of Nebraska Office Professionals Association.

Today Donelle is accompanied by her husband, Ron Moormeier, and Dawn Braithwaite, Chair of the Department of Communication Studies.

Please join me in thanking Donelle for her dedication to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and to the Department of Communication Studies.
