March 18, 2016

The Board of Regents is pleased to present a KUDOS Award to Michaela Habe, financial specialist for the Department of Art & Art History in the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Michaela is a trustworthy employee with high standards. She is eager to assist with any project and has an upbeat attitude. She encourages others to do their best and provides kind and thorough guidance to the faculty, staff and students she encounters.

Michaela assisted colleagues in the College of Architecture after the retirement of its business manager, supporting the college’s business and finance needs while it searched for a replacement.

In 2014, the Glenn Korff School of Music (the largest unit of the college) found itself without leadership and guidance in business and finance operations when its business manager unexpected passed away. Michaela stepped in to provide whatever assistance was necessary to ensure business continuity. She quickly learned about the school, its faculty, staff and students, and immersed herself in its culture, providing top notch service, and guiding faculty and staff through the business processes and procedures.

With the recent retirement of the accounting technician in the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film, Michaela has again stepped in to lead and advance the business and finance operations of this unit.  Clearly, Michaela is one of our “go-to” people when help is needed.

Today Michaela is accompanied by Dean Chuck O’Connor, Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts; Associate Chair Aaron Holz, Department of Art & Art History; and her husband, Nathan Habe. Please thank Michaela for her dedication to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
