The Board of Regents is pleased to present a KUDOS award to Vanessa Rath, former Office Supervisor in Parking and Transit Operations at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and recently promoted to Parking and Transit Manager.

Praised by her nominator, Laura Wakefield, for exhibiting a dedication to her job that is above and beyond expectations, Vanessa brings positivity, good judgment, and exceptional customer service to her department. Laura wrote, “Vanessa excels in maintaining a calm and positive demeanor in challenging customer service and supervisory situations. She is a collaborator who gathers all of the facts and uses appropriate resources before making a decision. Parking is challenging, and she is always positive to deal with.”
Thanks to Vanessa’s staffing and support, Parking and Transit Operations opens earlier and closes later than nearly any other service department on campus. In addition to putting in extra effort during the workweek, Vanessa has taken her show on the road during the weekends, selling parking permits to students at Maverick Village, University Village, and Scott Housing.
Vanessa is truly student focused. She was instrumental in helping provide students the opportunity to purchase parking permits through their student accounts, allowing them to pay for permits as financial aid becomes available.
