As Campus Conversations kicks off for the 2020-21 academic year, the University of Nebraska—Lincoln's (UNL) Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor and Center for Transformative Teaching would like to invite you to attend the keynote address for the Teaching & Learning Symposium.
Join us as Jesse Stommell, Digital Learning Fellow and Senior Lecturer of Digital Studies at the University of Mary Washington, presents on student engagement and trust in online learning.
In his interactive keynote presentation, “Start by Trusting Students: Active Learning and Inclusive Pedagogies in Moments of Crisis," attendees will learn how to sustainably move forward during times of crisis.
Topics in the discussion will include:
- What we are facing now that will influence education for years
- Exposing inequities and systemic injustices that students face
- How will campuses address this in the online environment
All University of Nebraska administrators, faculty and staff from all four campuses are invited to attend this virtual keynote. Individuals from the UNL campus are welcome to register for the full event.

Campus Conversations is an online professional development series focused on key topics related to education in the face of rapidly changing technology. The University of Nebraska Online, in partnership with each NU campus, co-hosts a series of talks on key topics related to education in the face of rapidly changing technology. The event takes place multiple times throughout the academic year and features nationally recognized speakers to share information about topics of interest to those involved in online learning. Events are hosted via live web-cast and in-person on each campus. These events are offered free of charge to University of Nebraska faculty and staff.
