NU Board of Regents to Meet Jan 25

The University of Nebraska Board of Regents will meet Thursday, Jan. 25, 2018, at Varner Hall, 3835 Holdrege St. in Lincoln. The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. with an update from Speaker of the Legislature Jim Scheer. NU President Hank Bounds will also provide an update on the university’s budget planning, including ongoing efforts to make cuts and a review of the impact of the proposed reductions announced last week by Gov. Pete Ricketts.

In addition, the Board will consider a proposed policy on freedom of expression, the result of months of work by a university-wide group that included input from faculty, staff and students.

The meeting is open to the public and will be audio-streamed live at www.nebraska.edu.
