NU BOARD OF REGENTS TO MEET JAN. 24

The University of Nebraska Board of Regents will meet Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at Varner Hall, 3835 Holdrege St. in Lincoln. Committee meetings will begin at 8 a.m. and the Board meeting begins at 10:15 a.m. All meetings are open to the public. Meetings also will be audio-streamed live at www.nebraska.edu.

8:10 a.m.: Legislative Update
Presenters: Sen. Greg Adams, Speaker of the Legislature, and Ron Withem, NU senior associate vice president for university affairs and director of governmental relations

8:40 a.m.: Academic Affairs Committee
Topic: White House Summit
Presenter: President James B. Milliken

Topic: Strategic Framework Report – Graduation Rates
Presenter: Pete Lipins, NU senior research analyst

Topic: Peter Kiewit Institute Strategic Plan Report
Presenters: John Christensen, chancellor, University of Nebraska at Omaha, and Harvey Perlman, chancellor, University of Nebraska-Lincoln

10:15 a.m.: Board of Regents meeting

The Board will be asked to approve:

  • An agreement between the University of Nebraska Foundation and the Board of Regents for the purchase of the property at 14th and Military Road. (Addendum X-B-2)
  • The program statement and budget for the Breslow Ice Center at UNL. (Addendum X-B-4)
  • The program statements and budgets for renovations at Behlen Laboratory and Manter Hall at UNL. (Addendums X-B-5 and X-B-6)
  • The project budget for replacing the sound system within Memorial Stadium and installing Wifi. (Addendum X-B-9)
  • The selection of RDG Planning and Design to provide design services for the Nebraska Veterinary Diagnostic Center at UNL. (Addendum X-B-11)
  • 2014-15 residence hall room and board rates for the University of Nebraska at Kearney, University of Nebraska at Omaha and Nebraska Technical College of Agriculture. (Addendums X-B-13, X-B-14 and X-B-15)
