MEDIA ADVISORY University of Nebraska Board of Regents to meet, make campus visit to UNMC

The University of Nebraska Board of Regents will make a campus visit to the University of Nebraska Medical Center on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014. On Friday, Feb. 21, the Board will hold a brief meeting at Varner Hall, 3835 Holdrege St. in Lincoln.

The agenda for Thursday’s campus visit includes remarks from the new UNMC chancellor, Dr. Jeffrey Gold, who began this month, as well as updates on various UNMC initiatives, including the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center. A detailed itinerary follows:

On Friday, the Board’s Academic Affairs Committee will meet at 11 a.m. Terry Hartle, senior vice president at the American Council on Education, will lead a discussion on higher education public policy.

Lunch is at noon. The Board meeting begins at 12:30 p.m. The Board’s only action item is consideration of honorary degrees and awards.
