University of Nebraska Board of Regents to make campus visit to UNO 2013

The University of Nebraska Board of Regents will make a campus visit to the University of Nebraska at Omaha on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013. The Board will take a campus tour and hear a series of presentations focused on the diversity of learners UNO serves, including military students, minority and first-generation students, and transfer students.

All morning sessions will take place in the Chancellor’s Room of the Milo Bail Student Center. Lunch and the afternoon sessions will take place in the student center ballroom.

The full itinerary for Thursday’s campus visit follows:

9:00 a.m. | Breakfast and chancellor’s welcome

9:20 a.m. | UNO Master Plan Update

Presenters: Bill Conley, vice chancellor for business and finance, and John Amend, associate vice chancellor and director of facilities management & planning

9:45 a.m. | Military Learners

Presenters: Mike Connolly, interim director of MAVUSO, and Kim Miller, manager of the Division of Continuing Studies Offutt Office

10:15 a.m. | Break

11:00 a.m.| Supporting New Students

Presenters: Mel Clancy, director, Project Achieve; Valerie Thompson, specialist, multicultural affairs; and Deb Smith-Howell, associate vice chancellor for academic and student affairs and dean of graduate studies

11:50 a.m. | Lunch and presentations in the ballroom
