NU Board of Regents to Meet June 8

The University of Nebraska Board of Regents will meet Friday, June 8, 2012, at Varner Hall, 3835 Holdrege St. in Lincoln. Committee meetings begin at 9 a.m. and the Board meeting begins at 12:45 p.m. All meetings are open to the public. Meetings also will be audio-streamed live at

The Board will be asked to approve:

  • Creation of a Bachelor of Science degree in emergency management at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. (Addendum IX-A-2)
  • The 2012-13 operating budget and tuition rates for the university and Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture. (Addendums IX-B-1 and IX-B-2)
  • The 2013-15 biennial budget request for the university and Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture, and the NU construction budget request. (Addendums IX-B-3, IX-B-4 and IX-B-5)
  • An “employee plus one” proposal to expand eligibility for participation in the university’s benefits program to include employees’ same- and opposite-sex partners. (Addendum IX-B-6)
  • The program statement and budget for the 18th and R streets parking garage at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. (Addendum IX-B-8)
  • A consulting contract with Sasaki to develop a comprehensive update to the UNL campus master plan and to develop a landscape master plan. (Addendum IX-B-14)
  • The program statement and budget for the University of Nebraska at Kearney Wellness Center. (Addendum IX-B-16)
