“I Love NU” Advocacy Day

You are invited to an “I Love NU” Advocacy Day on March 6th, 2018 from 1:30 - 5 p.m. Students, alumni, and all supporters and friends of the University are welcome to come to the Capitol to show support for NU, visit their senators and share their stories of how NU has made a positive impact on their lives.

Please wear your campus colors to show support! Buttons and stickers will be available at the Capitol to identify yourself as an NU supporter.

Here are some helpful tips to consider prior to the event:

  • Find out your senator and district. You can use your Zip code or address to do so here.
  • Find out your senator's office number. You can see a list of senators by name here; includes district, phone number, office number in Capitol, and mailing address.
  • Look at a map of the Capitol to find the meeting room and your senator's office.

Day of the Event

  • Here are directions to the Capitol. and parking information.
  • Parking info can be found here. Parking may be found on the streets surrounding the Capitol. Longer term parking may be found in the residential areas south of the Capitol. The nearest public parking garage is located at 12th Street (one way north) and L Street (one way west). Accessible parking is available on K Street adjacent to the Capitol’s north entrance.
  • There is a cafeteria in the Capitol off the South doors; it's open from 7 am to 2 pm. Vending rooms are located on the 1st and 2nd floors of the Capitol. You may want to bring water and snacks.
