James O'Donnell Senior Programmer Information Technology System UNMC
Jim has been on the UNMC staff for 18 years, and has built a reputation for dependability, patience, and intelligence. He is responsive, does whatever is needed to make things work right, and he invariably meets customer time lines.
Recently, the U.S. Internal Revenue Service requested data on retirement contributions for a group of employees. The information required was more than five years old and was contained in a payroll system that was retired from service when the University's new SAP software went online. Most tools previously available to extract such data are no longer available. Despite the obstacles, Jim found a way to search through about 18,000 records to find the requested data - on time.
It is this kind of ingenuity and willingness to tackle any task - no matter how difficult - that has earned Jim such a positive reputation.
