David FitzgibbonManager of Broadcast Services, University Communications, UNL
The Board of Regents is pleased today to present a KUDOS award to David L. Fitzgibbon, Manager of Broadcast Services in the University Communications Department at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
As manager of broadcast services, Dave has produced countless video presentations that represent UNL in a very positive manner. His work includes the national television spots aired during football and other athletic event broadcasts; “Real Nebraska” videos that have been successful in helping recruit students to UNL; HuskerVision segments showcasing academic successes, and special event videos for the Chancellor’s office, the UNL Office of Research, many UNL colleges, and the University Central Administration.
Dave also has been instrumental in gaining more visibility for UNL by working with producers who have asked to tape or film programs and movies on campus, such as the NBC TV series, “Tommy Lee Goes to College,” as well as a segment for “Perfect Proposal.” He handles multiple news issues, manages some news conferences and media interviews, and speaks at national conferences across the country.
UNL Chancellor Harvey Perlman says of Dave: “He has always produced national caliber work that is the envy of other universities. He is a trusted colleague across campus, and always finds a way to get the job done, no matter what. In short, he is masterful, and a wonderful example of a great work ethic as well as a role model for attitude and contagious enthusiasm.”
