Dusty is described by his colleagues as “well organized and thoughtful,” as having a “passionate allegiance to the University of Nebraska at Kearney,” and as a “loyal, tireless, and talented staff member whose service to UNK is indispensible for the success of the institution.”
His major responsibilities include coordinating undergraduate recruitment efforts for freshmen and transfer students, campus visits, and new student enrollment and orientation programs. Dusty is also very active in campus community and professional activities. Major campus commitments include the Enrollment Management Council, the UNK Marketing Team, project leader for the Noel-Levitz partnership, and past membership on UNK’s Staff Senate where he served as President. Beyond campus, Dusty is an active member in both the Nebraska Association for Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers and the Great Plains Association for College Admissions Counseling, and in their respective national organizations. He is currently a member of the EducationQuest Foundation Advisory Council and an active member of the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce.
Today Dusty has brought his parents, Bob and Mary Hurst. Please join me in thanking Dusty for his contributions to the undergraduate recruitment efforts at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
