On behalf of the Board of Regents, I am pleased to present a KUDOS award to Laura Lamblin, administrative technician at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Laura was honored as being UNO’s Employee of the Month for this past August.

Nine-and-a-half years ago, Laura was celebrating her birthday when she was offered a job at UNO in the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Business and Finance. There, she works for Julie Totten, UNO’s associate vice chancellor of business and finance. Laura’s duties include helping with contracts, assisting with the Firefly help desk which is a system that allows employees to access their personal information such as vacation leave, working with the alumni association, the University of Nebraska Foundation, and United Way campaign donations.
In her office, she is described as the “go-to” person. One co-worker said, “Laura has a knack for finding information on the web or in the files. She knows all computer software programs used in the office and is the resident expert. She has a ‘can do’ spirit and is willing to pitch in and help with any project and see it to the end.” Laura describes her own department as “awesome.”
