Bauer has coached 14 national champions and eight national runners-up. The Lopers have been high achievers off the mat as well, boasting impressive team GPAs on an annual basis. This past spring, the team’s cumulative GPA exceeded 3.0 and nine team members placed on the Wrestling Coaches Association National All-Scholar Team. Bauer’s personal coaching awards include being named National DII Rookie Coach of the Year in 2000 and National DII Wrestling Coach of the Year in 2003 and 2008.
