The Water for Food Institute focuses on important food producing regions, including sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East and North Africa region. Since 2014 the institute has provided support to two postdoctoral scholars, 34 graduate students, and 17 undergraduate students via its Student Support Program. New in 2018, Water for Food Global SEEDS is one of three UNL upperclass learning communities. Students will live together in Massengale Residential Center apartments, learn together in sustainability and global entrepreneurship courses, and connect together through shared learning experiences. Students may cap their year off with a study abroad experience, ideally to Africa.
