I have been working in a number of countries in Africa since the early 1990s. Most of this work has been on conservation and research related to threatened birds and mammals. I have also be taking students on a wildlife conservation study abroad course for 20 years in South Africa and Botswana. Most of my recent research has been on a small reserve in Botswana mainly on lions, mammal abundance, kori bustards, and presently spotted hyenas.
