While my interests in South Africa has fueled my research, I am extremely interested in the transnational discussions that women on the continent had with each other. As a doctoral graduate of Michigan State University's African history program, I chose as one of my fields comparative black history which exposed me to the continuities and discontinuities between and among people of African descent. Therefore, as a professor and US Fulbright Scholar 2017-2018, I continue to pursue scholarship that animates the lived experiences of lesser known individuals or shows their relationships with those most prominently known.
