Rwanda, Gitwe, Kigali, public health research
I took 2 trips to Rwanda in 2016 and I have written MOU's for both Gitwe University (where Dr Patterson has been working) and University of Rwanda in Kigali, geared toward research and student exchanges. While in Rwanda, I met with investigators at the Rwandan Biomedical Center (RBC) to develop ideas about Public Health research possibilities. I also met with the Minister of Health at the time (since replaced), deans of several colleges at UR (including public health, dentistry, agriculture) and have been involved in introducing UNMC faculty to the people at GItwe and UR.
