The University of Nebraska Shared Application

Introduction to the Shared Application

From October 1-18, 2020, resident students using NU’s shared application for admission to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, University of Nebraska at Omaha, University of Nebraska at Kearney and Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture may have the $45 application fee waived. Both first-time freshmen and transfer students applying for admission for fall 2021 are eligible for the waiver. When applying, students should select "fee waiver" and enter the code "NUforNE" to have the fee waived.

What is the shared application?

The shared application is a joint effort between the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, University of Nebraska at Omaha, University of Nebraska at Kearney and the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis.

Students are able to apply to multiple institutions within the University of Nebraska system using a single application and paying a single application fee. The application will be available August 1, 2020 for the fall semester of 2021.

Why is it helpful?

Applying to college is time consuming. The shared application will expedite the process of applying to multiple institutions within the University system. Students will self-report their coursework and test scores, which will lead to a more timely admission decision. Instead of paying multiple application fees, prospective students will pay a one-time fee of $45.

Considerations When Applying

Coursework

Students will enter core coursework they have completed or will complete by the time they graduate from high school. This will be reported using whole numbers and decimals for course credit they receive (1 for one year and .5 for one semester). In a block schedule system, one semester of coursework is typically equal to one academic year.
