Sam Augustine Coordinator of the Experimental Training Program College of Pharmacy UNMC
Sam works with pharmacy preceptors - practicing pharmacists in Nebraska communities - to provide quality clerkship training to pharmacy students in their fourth year of studies. He also is the adviser to the Academy of Students of Pharmacy.
Sam had been with UNMC from 1973 to 1987, when he left to work in the private sector as executive officer of the Great Plains Radio Pharmacy service and as a business consultant. He returned on April 1, 1999 - which he notes was April Fools’ Day.
Since his return, he has concentrated his efforts on the growth and development of students, who he says are his products. His devotion to working with students shows in a variety of ways - just one of which is his service for three hours every Tuesday night at the SHARING Clinic, which is operated by UNMC students to serve low-income people in Omaha.
