Delayne Peterson Physician Assistant Coordinator Adult Intensive Care Unit UNMC
Delayne is one of a very few people to be both a licensed nurse-practitioner and a physician assistant. For the past 12 years, she has coordinated the care of critically ill patients, assisted with the daily ICU rounds, assigned residents and students to patients, and ensured continuity of care when there are personnel changes on the ICU team.
She also works with the patients’ families, spending time explaining exactly what is happening with the patient, possible outcomes of treatments, and what to expect next.
On a lighter note, Delayne is a professional clown, and she recently purchased her grandmother’s house in Wahoo, where she spends her weekends repairing and refurbishing it.
