Marcia Burman Secretary Specialist Office of the Dean of the College of Fine Arts and Humanities UNK
On behalf of the Board of Regents, I am pleased to present a KUDOS award to Marcia Burman. Marcia has served the University of Nebraska at Kearney since 1992 as a Secretary Specialist in the Office of the Dean of the College of Fine Arts and Humanities.
Marcia takes pride in her work, is highly dependable, and has a strong work ethic. Colleagues describe her as having exceptional interpersonal skills as well. She is kind and genuine when dealing with colleagues, and she is especially dedicated to students. The performance events and competitions that are routinely offered by the College of Fine Arts and Humanities make it uniquely visible throughout the campus, as well as throughout the community and region. Because of this, Marcia deals with the public in a variety of venues. Her sincerity and her commitment to service make her a wonderful representative of UNK.
Beyond her regular duties, Marcia often takes the initiative to assist other departments and programs that are housed in the Fine Arts Center, Thomas Hall, and the Mitchell Center – particularly music and performing arts. She can often be found behind the scenes, working in cooperation with department secretaries and faculty to ensure the success of major events. Her willingness to interact with others for the good of the college and the university truly sets her apart.
For her individual excellence, her positive spirit of cooperation, and her overall standard of superior performance, I am pleased to honor Marcia Burman. Joining her today are her husband, Norman, and her son, Joe.
