The Board of Regents is pleased today to present a KUDOS award to Donna Friedrichsen, who works on the Accounts Payable staff of Financial Services at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Donna is a long-term employee who has given invaluable service to the University – and whose dedication, motivation and enthusiasm have been contagious throughout the Business and Finance staff.
Donna is responsible for reviewing the thousands of travel reimbursement requests at UNL. Her attention to detail, and her comprehension of the rules and regulations, guarantee that the institution is compliant with federal, state and university requirements.
Mary LaGrange, director of accounting at UNL, says: “Patience is a virtue, of which Donna has an abundance. She takes the time to ensure that the individual travelers understand not only the applicable policy and procedures, but also why the documentation is necessary.”
Donna also embraces new technology. She volunteered to learn and deploy UNL’s new automated travel system, has polished her Powerpoint skills, and enthusiastically trained hundreds on travel procedures and workflow processes.
Her energy is endless, her attitude is always positive, and her loyalty to the University is constant. Donna and her husband are avid Husker fans and, in fact, Donna led the department’s Homecoming display efforts this past fall.
With Donna today is her husband, Donald Friedrichsen; her sister and her husband, Betty and Alton Peters; and Mary LaGrange, Director of Accounting at UNL. Please join me in thanking Donna Friedrichsen for her dedication to Financial Services – and to the university.
