Kim Volpone Staff Secretary Air Force ROTC Detachment 470 UNO
On behalf of the Board of Regents, I am pleased to present a KUDOS award to Kim Volpone, Staff Secretary to the Air Force ROTC Detachment at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
Kim’s responsibilities include a variety of duties such as preparing for interviews with prospective students and scholarship applicants, working with alumni, preparing budget reports, and overseeing the uniform shop. She also works with the cadets on the awards convocation and biannual alumni newsletter.
Colleagues say that her ability to multitask and work well with her peers made her an important member of the “Wolfpack,” a term often used to describe the ROTC unit and its mascot.
Her co-workers commend her for the time she spends enriching students’ experiences. Kim volunteered her own time to serve as an escort for 40 students on an Air Force-sponsored professional development training program for officer candidates.
Kim volunteers with the American Heart Association and Creighton Cardiac Center, and is active with the Mended Heart Association, a group she started in Omaha that provides support to individuals with a history of heart disease. She also enjoys being a member of a neighborhood Bunco group.
It is my pleasure to present the KUDOS award to Kim Volpone. She is joined today by Lt. Colonel Ted Spencer, Capt. Dave Webb, Staff Sgt. Gabriele Maffei, and 2nd Lt. Jeremy Powell.
