Tisha is highly skilled in developing large, multi-million-dollar proposals that require the participation of numerous faculty from diverse disciplines and often involve several partnering institutions. Her job requires a complete knowledge of the research process, budgets and program development; a thorough understanding of the requirements of granting agencies; and, most importantly, the ability to manage a large, complex project and work effectively under very tight deadlines with diverse internal and external groups.
In the last two years Tisha has had a stellar record of winning proposals, including playing a major role in the $10.9 million renewal grant for the Redox Biology Center and the $9 million EPSCoR Research Infrastructure Improvement grant, among many others. In 2007 alone, she assisted faculty with winning proposals totaling $13.5 million.
Tisha continually strives to improve her skills and the quality of proposals that UNL submits to the federal funding agencies and private foundations. She exemplifies the team spirit and pursuit of excellence that are hallmarks of success, and is a valuable asset to UNL and the University of Nebraska.
We are honored to present this KUDOS Award to Tisha Gilreath Mullen for her dedication and exceptional service to the Office of Research at UNL.
