On behalf of the Board of Regents, I am pleased to present a KUDOS Award to Sara Ward, Associate Director and Campus Compliance Manager at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
Sarah helps ensure that UNMC and its employees comply with institutional policies as well as all applicable state and federal laws.
Praised for being helpful and knowledgeable, Sara is a trusted resource who works with every UNMC college and department, as well as other campuses and clinical partners such as Nebraska Medicine, Children’s Nebraska and the Veterans Administration Health System.
She develops creative solutions for campus databases, compliance information systems and compliance training. She also ensures that conflict of interest disclosures can be used by UNMC’s clinical partners to prevent duplicative efforts across organizations.
Her responsibilities range from system maintenance to supporting UNMC in maintaining near-perfect campus completion rates for both UNMC compliance training and conflict of interest disclosures. In fact, for the past 10 years, she has maintained greater than 99% campus completion in both areas.
Sara singlehandedly worked to ensure that all UNMC compliance training meets Title II accessibility standards.
Today, Sara is joined by her Supervisor, Sarah Gloden Carlson, Chief Compliance Officer and Vice Chancellor Jane Meza.
