The Board of Regents is pleased to present a KUDOS award to Gail Meyer, Associate Registrar at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Gail’s career of more than 40 years reflects a deep and genuine dedication to excellence that has left a lasting impact across campus. Her nomination is supported by members of the Office of the Registrar, Undergraduate Academic Advising, and Academic Navigators Leadership teams.
Her extraordinary service, professionalism, and commitment to students, staff and the University has been instrumental in the development, maintenance, and improvement of degree audits and graduation clearance processes. This ensures all students experience a smooth and confident path to graduation. Gail frequently self-volunteers her evenings and weekends because, to her, satisfying the campus needs is its own reward.
Nominators recognize that Gail is a cornerstone for advising teams and academic units. She is the lynchpin in the cross-campus work of training and educating advisors, adapting evolving systems, and navigating complex degree requirements. She is always identifying and resolving potential issues before they escalate.
Gail’s professionalism, kindness, and integrity set her apart. She approaches every interaction with a positive attitude, genuine care, and a collaborative spirit. Colleagues rely on her honest, thorough, and accurate responses. She sees both the nuance and the bigger picture, ensuring decisions are made with students’ best interests at heart. A recent example at commencement occurred when a student tripped, breaking her shoe. Gail offered her own shoes to the student to walk across the stage, making a lasting impact. Her dedication, skill and positive influence on students and staff make our campus community stronger because of her contributions.
