On behalf of the Board of Regents, I am pleased to present a KUDOS Award to UNMC’s Krista Patterson, Clinical Study Coordinator in the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center Clinical Trials Office.
Krista joined UNMC in March 2022 and currently serves as the leukemia clinical study coordinator, helping ensure the success and quality of leukemia clinical trial studies. More specifically, Krista is responsible for coordinating clinical research activities; assisting principal investigators and nurse coordinators with project management, the coordination and implementation of clinical trials; and providing data management support to ensure trials move forward toward their enrollment goals.
She also serves as a point of contact for leukemia study patients to answer their questions and help them navigate their care.
Said one nominator: “She understands the impact of her work and that it is literally some people’s last hope for more time, better quality of life.”
One colleague said, “Krista has made outstanding contributions to multiple disease areas on our team. She successfully manages complex clinical trials, staying organized, adaptable, and focused. Her smooth transition into a new disease group this past year highlights her flexibility, diligence, and commitment to high-quality work.”
Today, Krista is joined by Susan Blumel, Research Nurse Manager and Michaela Savine, Lead Clinical Research Nurse Coordinator.
Join me in thanking Krista for her ability to identify challenges, help implement solutions and step in wherever she is needed. Her commitment and collaboration make her an invaluable member of the Clinical Trials Office.
