On behalf of the Board of Regents, I am honored to present a KUDOS award to Meredith DeHaven, Employment Specialist in Human Resources at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
Since September 2014, Meredith has been a valued member of the Human Resources team, committed to recruiting top talent for all areas of UNK. She has kept pace with the evolving employment landscape. It is her mission to advertise positions in high-visibility outlets, remaining mindful of cost-effectiveness.
She excels in her role as the sole employee managing recruitment and hiring while taking on additional responsibilities following staff consolidations. Now she oversees Workers' Compensation and POET testing.
In July 2024, the old recruiting system was set to sunset, and the launch of SuccessFactors was scheduled for June 2025. Meredith led the implementation for the campus and was selected to serve as a co-system administrator, acknowledging her vast project expertise and leadership.
Integration was no small feat. Over 11 months, Meredith dedicated hundreds of hours to meetings, participated in system design, facilitated town hall sessions, and led User Acceptance Testing. With the addition of onboarding and performance goals modules, she trained all end users in knowledge transfer, developed comprehensive training materials, and coordinated implementation, all while managing her regular duties.
Meredith's commitment often extends to nights and weekends, ensuring continuity and progress. She steps in to assist with any task to encourage HR team members. Every challenge is met with determination and grace. Her commitment to UNK, her passion for learning, and dedication to excellence impress colleagues across campus. She embodies the spirit of teamwork, leadership, and service, and we are proud to call her a Loper.
Joining us in thanking Meredith are: her husband, Troy DeHaven; son, Ethan DeHaven and supervisor, Director of Human Resources Scott Benson.
