On behalf of the Board of Regents, I am pleased to present a KUDOS Award to Katelyn Kelley, clinical research coordinator for the Munroe-Meyer Institute at UNMC.
Katelyn’s colleagues applaud her innovative talents and the “growth mindset,” she’s exhibited since joining UNMC in 2018. In her current role, Katelyn has developed and improved internal processes, including implementing a bar code system for specimen collections. “This was a major initiative that substantially improved our research process,” her nominator said.
In addition, Katelyn has enhanced MMI’s research protocols, in part, by implementing audit procedures, moving data collection processes from paper to a secure web application. Most recently she was implementing a new project management system that includes research protocols for tracking, document storage and training materials.
She’s also created new processes for hiring research staff and selecting students for the Summer Undergraduate Research Program at MMI.
“Katelyn is simply the epitome of someone who always strives for excellence,” her nominator said. “She is the glue that holds us all together.”
Today, she is joined by her parents, Janette and Bert Kelley; husband, Kyle Ernst and friend, Nikki Zabik.
Join me in thanking Katelyn for her innovative spirit in helping researchers achieve the highest standards for research grants, interactions with research participants and community partners and the training of undergraduate students across MMI.
