The Board of Regents is pleased to present a KUDOS award to Karez Hassan, Academic Advisor in the College of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
Karez has demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to student success and institutional excellence.
Her nominators said, “She has been a cornerstone in helping incoming freshmen acclimate to UNL. Her mentorship and leadership have been a beacon for them as they transition to college life. With her deep knowledge, boundless enthusiasm, and compassionate approach, Karez has been a vital support.
“She took on the additional responsibility of advising our graduate students while maintaining her undergraduate advising duties. She learned the complexities of the graduate program, developed an advising guide and built relationships with more than 80 master's students. She ensured they would receive the same high level of support and guidance as their undergraduate counterparts.”
She has been invaluable in guiding and assisting new staff. Her unwavering dedication to them has been instrumental in strengthening the team.
Joining Karez today are her husband, Rebeen Kareem, her mother, Jihan Khidir, her father, Kawa Khoshnaw and Lisa Smith, Director of Advising in the College of Journalism and Mass Communications.
Please join me in thanking Karez Hassan for everything she is doing for the success of the university and for her dedication to her students and co-workers.
