UNMC Chancellor Search
About the Search
The University of Nebraska has begun a search for the next chancellor of the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
A search committee comprised of representatives from UNMC, Nebraska Medicine, each of the four NU campuses and members of the community will lead the process, conducting an internal search open to qualified candidates from across the NU system. The committee, which will be convened by Interim NU Executive President and Provost David Jackson and assisted by executive search firm CarterBaldwin, may choose to expand to a national search to draw a broader candidate pool.
The committee aims to have a permanent chancellor in place later on this year. They will work closely with CarterBaldwin to develop a comprehensive position profile that reflects the critical role this chancellor will play in the future of the university and the state.
Once the position profile is complete, the committee will invite nominations and applications. After a priority candidate is identified, they will participate in a 30-day public vetting process, which includes visiting the UNMC campuses in Omaha and across the state. The vetting process will provide the priority candidate with opportunities to engage with students, faculty, staff and the broader Omaha and Nebraska community.
As more information on the application process becomes available, this page will be updated. Any questions should be submitted to UNMCChancellor@carterbaldwin.com.
