UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA BOARD OF REGENTS TO MEET DEC. 20

The University of Nebraska Board of Regents will meet Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018, at Varner Hall, 3835 Holdrege St. in Lincoln. The Board meeting begin at 11 a.m. It is open to the public and will be audio-streamed live at www.nebraska.edu.

 The Board’s brief agenda includes consideration of the appointment of Dr. Jeffrey P. Gold as chancellor of the University of Nebraska at Omaha. President Hank Bounds named Dr. Gold, who has led UNO on an interim basis since 2017, as the priority candidate for chancellor on Nov. 5. As required by state law, Dr. Gold’s selection has undergone a 30-day public vetting period that included open forums at UNO and feedback opportunities for stakeholders.

 If approved by the Board, Dr. Gold would serve as UNO chancellor until June 30, 2022.

The Board’s Dec. 20 agenda also includes consideration of the appointment of Tiffany Heng-Moss as dean of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.
