Should I verify AI-generated responses?
Yes. Like all generative AI tools, Adobe Acrobat AI Assistant may produce inaccurate or incomplete responses. Users are responsible for reviewing and validating AI-generated content before using it for academic, administrative, research, or business purposes.
Are documents uploaded to Adobe and then used with the AI assistant, retained or used as training material?
Adobe Acrobat AI Assistant processes your documents using Adobe's secure infrastructure and does not use your content to train AI models. Adobe's privacy policy details how document data is handled when you use AI features. If you dismiss the AI, no data will be collected or transmitted to Adobe’s secure infrastructure.
If the PDF I am reading has a restrictive copyright which would limit my ability to freely share the material (e.g. a textbook), would employing these AI features either intentionally or by accidental click be in violation of that copyright?
Using the AI Assistant does not inherently violate copyright. However, users should exercise the same care with copyrighted materials as they would in any other context, ensuring they have the appropriate rights or authorization before reproducing, distributing, or otherwise using protected content.
If the PDF I am reading contains any student information or institutional information, would employing any of these AI features either intentionally or by accidental click be in violation of any FERPA requirement? Would it be in accordance with EM16?
All data within the Adobe platform should be compliant with FERPA and EM16. Similar to ChatGPT and Copilot, no data is shared when using the AI assistant in Acrobat. Data in Adobe Document Cloud is private unless explicitly shared with another individual.
