Sara Leber, CPA

Sara Leber is a Certified Public Accountant and a Senior Internal Auditor for Internal Audit and Advisory Services. She has more than 16 years of audit experience. Prior to joining the University in October of 2024, she held various auditing positions at the Nebraska Auditor of Public Accounts and in the private sector. She also has more than 2 years of grant experience with the State of Nebraska.

Sara’s primary responsibilities include working across all four campuses identifying key business risks and internal controls; developing audit objectives; reviewing for compliance with university policies, state regulations, and federal regulations; and reviewing detailed accounting transactions.

Sara earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree with an emphasis in accounting and management from Midland Lutheran College. She is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors.

Sara and her husband Matt have three children, Logan, Ethan, and Aidan.
