University of Nebraska System President Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D., will visit five communities and two university sites in Northeast Nebraska Aug. 10-11.
During the tour, which will include stops in Fremont, Blair, Wayne, South Sioux City and West Point, as well as the University of Nebraska–Lincoln Haskell Agricultural Laboratory near Concord and Ashfall Fossil Beds State Historical Park near Royal, Dr. Gold will meet with community members, civic and business leaders, alumni, educators, donors, university faculty and staff and others to engage in conversations about the future of the university and how it can support a robust and thriving Nebraska.
This marks Dr. Gold’s third tour of Nebraska since becoming NU System president in 2024.
“During my time leading the NU System, I have seen first-hand the ways in which the university is woven into the fabric of this state,” said Dr. Gold. “It is an incredible privilege to lead a university that is so deeply rooted in the people and communities it serves, and I look forward to hearing about what the people of Nebraska expect from their university system, now and in the future.”
