Community Partnerships

Serving as a primary source of news and information on diversity issues in American higher education, "Diverse: Issues in Higher Ed" is a change agent for underrepresented groups and is looking to shape public policies to resolve inequalities. Our office is proud to support this organization's 35-year-anniversary of covering access and opportunity in higher ed.

Established in 2019, the Omaha Chamber of Commerce’s Conference of Opportunity, Diversity and Equity gives the city an opportunity to address diversity and inclusion issues at both the local and national level. As an original coalition member, we take pride in the cultural impact this conference creates.

This annual event commemorates Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s impact on our nation during the week of MLK Day. With help from its partners, the Freedom Breakfast supports Lincoln’s community by raising money to fund scholarships for public school students in Lincoln.

This five-year tradition celebrates Lincoln women leaders in 11 different categories, ranging from Excellence in Business to Nonprofit to Education to Healthcare. NU is proud to have been the sponsor of the 2019 "Woman of the Year" award. The 2019 Inspire Awards were hosted by "Inspire: Celebrating Women’s Leadership" and the Lincoln Journal Star on September 18.

Working as a change agent for Latinos in the Heartland, the Latino Center of the Midlands supports education, promotes professionalism and fosters leadership within the Omaha community. Its mission is to enhance the lives of the country’s largest and fastest-growing ethnic minority.

The Mountain Plains Minority Supplier Development Council helps U.S. governments and corporations access minority-owned businesses to develop relationships and strengthen the economy. We are proud to be part of a council that links minority groups to mutually beneficial partnerships and resources.
