Dear Faculty, Staff and Students,
When we talk about student support at the University of Nebraska, we are usually describing opportunities — rigorous and rewarding coursework, research opportunities, internships and other experiences that open doors and change lives.
Sometimes, though, student support is more fundamental. It means ensuring that basic needs are met and removing barriers that stand in the way of success. Today, that includes making sure our students have enough to eat.
To help in that effort, the Office of the President has arranged to transfer $5,000 each to the UNK, UNL and UNO food pantries and $2,500 to the NCTA food pantry. These pantries serve our Kearney, Lincoln, Omaha, medical school and Curtis campuses, and all are also accepting private donations.
Thank you for all you do to support our students and strengthen our university. Together, we are making sure each of our students has what they need to achieve their dreams.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D.
President, University of Nebraska System
