University of Nebraska System President Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D. delivered his 2026 State of the University address at noon on Thursday, Sept. 3, from the second-floor rotunda of the Nebraska State Capitol.

Dr. Gold reflected on the University’s current standing; celebrated recent accomplishments in research, teaching, engagement and service; and outlined bold steps to continue positioning the NU System for long-term success.
