A Scholarship for High-Achieving Nebraska Students

About the Program

The Nebraska NexGen Scholars Program is designed for high-achieving Nebraska high school students who have received a 33-35 on their ACT. Eligible program participants will receive a financial aid package that includes tuition and fees, books and supplies, on-campus housing and meals. The program covers up to 120 credit hours toward a University of Nebraska degree.

Program Requirements

Students must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the Nebraska NexGen Scholars Program:

33-35 ACT Score

The Nebraska NexGen Scholars Program is open to Nebraska students who have received a 33-35 on their ACT (Super Scores are not considered).

Nebraska Resident

The Nebraska NexGen Scholars program is open to Nebraska residents who are first-time students (freshman).

Full-Time Student

The student must be maintain full-time enrollment (24 credit hours per academic year) with a minimum of 12 graded credit hours in each fall and spring semester.

Maintain 3.5 GPA

Nebraska NexGen scholars must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher and remain in good academic standing.

Scholarship Comparison

The University of Nebraska offers several scholarship programs for high-achieving Nebraska students.

Please note: Students must be Nebraska residents. All scholarships/awards have additional eligibility, participation, renewal, and other requirements beyond those listed. Terms and conditions are available via campus financial aid offices.

Regents Scholarship

Recipient must achieve a minimum ACT test score of 32 or above (or SAT equivalent). The award covers undergraduate tuition for up to 120 credit hours.

Nebraska NexGen Scholarship

Recipient must achieve an ACT score of 32-35. An awardee receives a financial aid package that covers undergraduate tuition and fees for up to 120 credit hours, books and supplies, and on-campus housing and meals (pending application; capacity restrictions apply).

Presidential Scholars Program

Recipient must achieve a composite ACT score of 36 (or SAT equivalent). The award covers undergraduate tuition and fees for up to 120 credit hours, books and supplies, housing and meals, personal expenses and transportation, and all other costs of attendance—plus a $5,000 annual stipend.
