UNL chancellor finalist feedback sought by Friday

University of Nebraska President Hank Bounds is asking stakeholders of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to submit their feedback on the four finalists for chancellor by the close of business on Friday, March 18.

Links to the feedback forms, along with detailed information about the search, is available at www.nebraska.edu/unlchancellorsearch. Input from Nebraskans will help inform Bounds’ selection of the next UNL chancellor, who will succeed current Chancellor Harvey Perlman, stepping down June 30 after more than a decade and a half of leadership.

“I thank the people who have taken time to participate in this critical search for the future of the university and our state. Each of our accomplished finalists brings unique experiences and strengths and I was pleased to introduce them to Nebraskans,” Bounds said. “I hope those who had an opportunity to engage with the finalists will take a few moments to share their feedback. Their input will help ensure that the search reaches a successful conclusion.”

Each of the finalists visited UNL over a two-week period in late February and early March, hosting open forums, touring campus and meeting with a range of university stakeholders.

The finalists are:

• Sabah Randhawa, Ph.D., provost and executive vice president at Oregon State University.


• April Mason, Ph.D., provost and senior vice president at Kansas State University.


• Daniel Reed, Ph.D., vice president for research and economic development; university chair in computational science and bioinformatics; and professor of computer science, electrical and computer engineering and medicine at the University of Iowa.


• Ronnie Green, Ph.D., vice president for agriculture and natural resources at the University of Nebraska; Harlan Vice Chancellor of the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln; and interim senior vice chancellor for academic affairs at UNL.

Bounds will make the selection of the UNL chancellor, subject to approval by the Board of Regents. No date has been set for the naming of the next chancellor.
