Water for Food Conference Features Global Perspectives
More than 40 speakers from around the world will offer diverse perspectives on water and food security at the fourth global Water for Food Conference, May 30-June 1, in Lincoln, Neb. People from more than 20 countries are expected to participate in the conference, hosted by the Robert B. Daugherty Water for Food Institute at the University of Nebraska and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation at The Cornhusker Hotel in Lincoln.
University of Nebraska, India’s Jain Irrigation to collaborate on research, education efforts in water and food security
The University of Nebraska’s Robert B. Daugherty Water for Food Institute and India-based Jain Irrigation Systems Limited, one of the largest irrigation companies in the world, this week signed a Memorandum of Understanding that lays the groundwork for joint research and education efforts in the critical areas of water and food security.
University of Nebraska, Xi’an Jiaotong University celebrate American Exchange Center opening
The University of Nebraska and China’s Xi’an Jiaotong University celebrated Saturday the official opening of the American Exchange Center, an NU-wide initiative that aims to expose Chinese students and faculty to U.S. history, law, medicine, art, culture and government and strengthen Nebraska’s collaboration with China. The exchange center is one component of NU’s overall global engagement strategy to build relationships with key nations that will benefit Nebraska and the world. Only 10 such centers won seed funding from the U.S. government after a competitive application process.
