University of Nebraska President James B. Milliken invites members of the media to join him for a tour of innovative university youth education research and extension projects at Husker Harvest Days in Grand Island at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 14.
Milliken will tour the university’s Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources (IANR) exhibits, exploring how the university helps in “Inspiring Young Nebraskans,” both locally and internationally.
Steve Ress from IANR’s UNL Water Center will help host Milliken and can be reached during the show at (402) 309-5123.
Husker Harvest Days is located five miles west of Grand Island on Husker Highway. Media members should convene at the University of Nebraska Building, a large metal, Husker-red facility located near the corner of Central Avenue and Third Streets at lot No. 321.
Husker Harvest Days is Sept. 13-15. The show has been at the same permanent site, west of Grand Island, since 1978. The event is one of the nation’s premier working farm shows, with exhibitors and field demonstrations geared toward Nebraska and Western Corn Belt agriculture. It is the nation’s largest irrigated farm show.
